Metro\/Douglas County ARES and the Omaha Metropolitan Medical Response Communications Training Committee will host a training overview on the <em><strong>Incident Command System<\/strong><\/em> and<em><strong> how it applies to Amateur Radio Communications Volunteers<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0 This training will not replace the \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/training.fema.gov\/is\/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-100.b\">FEMA \u00a0IS-100.b online course<\/a> \u00a0but it will give you a basis for understanding the system that we will be asked to work within. \u00a0If you have taken the IS-100.b , this program will help explain how amateur radio fits into the plan.<\/p>\n<p>The Class will be held at Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Building at<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/DkgU3WNTVW62\">\u00a010629 Burt Circle in Omaha<\/a>. \u00a0 The building will open at 6:45 pm and the course will start at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure that we have materials and seating \u00a0available for everyone who wants to attend, we asked that you sign up so we know you are coming:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Amateur Radio and the Incident Command System Registration\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mdares.org\/heroes\/machform\/view.php?id=39114\">Amateur Radio and the Incident Command System Registration<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please note, that all ARES Volunteers, should have the following FEMA Independent Study Courses:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/training.fema.gov\/is\/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-100.b\">IS-100.b<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/training.fema.gov\/is\/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-200.b\">IS-200.b\u00a0<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/training.fema.gov\/is\/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-700.a\">IS-700.a <\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/training.fema.gov\/is\/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-800.c\">IS-800.c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you have taken an early version, you do not need to take the newer version.<\/p>\n<p>No one is compelled to take these courses, however many of the agencies we work with required these courses for the employees and volunteers. \u00a0You may not be able to help if you have not taken these courses. \u00a0Make sure you save the certificate when you have completed them. \u00a0 These same agencies may require additional training (example, to be placed, storm spotters need to have completed
